Over the past three years of my high school career, I've participated in the HOSA Blood Drive at my school. Students who are members of HOSA are given the opportunity to volunteer in both Spring and Fall Blood Drives. They can volunteer in various duties such as: waiting area (check patients in and make sure they're getting hydrated and educated on donating blood), runners (go for students who are registered to donate), registration (file patient information in and make sure they meet the requirements), and once they're done with the process other students provide snacks and make sure they're feeling good before they go back to class.

During my Senior year, HOSA hosted an event where hispanic parents were able to come and get informed on healthcare careers and participate on a hands-on CPR training. Special speakers came in and discussed the opportunities various healthcare jobs provide in the Gainesville area. Afterwards, HOSA student members were able to train parents on hands-on CPR.
